The staff at ICAN were celebrating their success, as they recieved notification that ICAN is now approved to deliver BTEC Work Skills qualifications, from Entry 3 to Level 3.


Visited 50 students today at our Valentines Day Enterprise Event. Adam is a Fashion and Events Entrepreneur and owns a clothing label called Only One Only You.

He gave an inspirational and lively presentation to a large audience, which involved two students taking to catwalk, showing off his designs and a T-shirt competition. On the day, all students worked alongside a Business Advisor from a London University who supported and mentored them to complete the enterprise tasks.

Youths who worked to improve their job prospects through drama were delighted to receive certificates to add their growing CV’s. 22 young people attended a 4 day ICAN employability course at Redbridge Central Library. Raphael Bedford, 17, managed to secure a part-time job in a Chinese restaurant while approaching employers as part of the course.
ICAN Personal Development worked in partnership with Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership and St Pauls Way Trust School to deliver, assess and provide feedback to a cohort of 160 students. Where 102 achieved a BTEC Certificate in Work Skills Level 2 qualification, equivalent to 1 GCSE (A-C).
A BTEC Work Skills Resource Kit created by ICAN Personal Development will be used by local secondary schools and training providers within Tower Hamlets. ICAN Personal Development was commissioned by Tower Hamlets Council to create a teaching resource for Work Skills units from Entry 3 to Level 2.
ICAN Personal Development successfully designed and delivered a 7 week employability programme for a Non Governmental Organisation in South Africa- Cape Town. The programme was delivered for 15 young people aged 17-23 years old who were re-taking their high school qualifications.
